The business of the holiday season may be enough to drive anyone crazy, but the roads are the last place holiday travelers want to see craziness exude which is why we want to look out for our customers by taking a moment to zero in on safe holiday driving tips.

Without, further ado, here are our 7 Tips To Keeping You and Your Family Safe on the Road This Holiday:

1. Take your time. Leave a little early as you head out to parties, shopping or festive events. Traffic is often heavier during the holidays and it is important to give yourself enough time to travel to your destination. This will keep you less stressed and avoid unnecessary accidents.

2. Wear your seat belt. It is easy to neglect fastening that seat belt if you are in a hurry, but it is mandatory and could save your life. Children should always be properly buckled into their seats and always in the back seat.

3. Be alert. Do not drive long distances without adequate rest. It is easy to fall asleep at the wheel on long trips of if you haven’t had a good night rest. Sleep before you drive not while you drive!

4. Keep eyes on the road. It is easy to get distracted this time of year by observing decorations, engaging in back seat conversation, changing the christmas tunes on the radio or even quickly glancing at your cell phone. Such distractions could cost you greatly. Just keep your eye on the road…even for a second!

5. Maintain your vehicle. Be sure your car has been maintained for the cold weather to prevent unnecessary wear and tear that could potentially lead to breakdowns and your vehicle’s failure to perform.

6. Decorations on your car. If you happen to decorate your car for the holidays, be sure not to obstruct your view or the vehicle’s safety signals.

7. Don’t drink and drive. If you drink at a party, get a cab or ask someone sober to drive. Just don’t take the chance.

We hope you and your loved ones have a SAFE and Happy Holidays as you put these 7 tips into action. Season’s Greetings!
